The organic waste from our hotels is used as a raw material for bioenergy plants. The waste is converted into green energy via an innovative processing process and returned to our hotels.

It is therefore not thrown away, but always reused in a smart way! For example, many products are cooled in a hotel. All this extracted energy is reused in the hotel. For example, keeping beer cool causes heating of water in the room.

Energy is not only reused, but also used efficiently. Our extractor hoods only have one setting. The extractor hood detects the amount of smoke by means of infrared and adjusts the supply and discharge speed accordingly.

Sustainability is already being considered not jusr in operational management, but also during construction. For example, several hotels already hold the BREEAM-NL In-Use sustainability certificate. This is a widely accepted certificate in the Netherlands for valuing sustainability aspects of the building.

Hotels that are currently under construction include the Amsterdam-Zuidas hotel, the Deventer hotel and the Schiedam hotel.

You can think of the new motion fast chargers, Lolo Smart charging points or the Tesla Supercharger. Feel free to contact the hotel where you are staying for business and ask about the possibilities.

We do everything in our power to use and generate our energy with the highest possible return. For example, we reuse the heat that is released when generating our electricity. Heat from the engine and flue gas cooling is used for your hot shower.

Not only heat is reused, but also frequently used products. In this way all the remains of the old candles from the restaurants are collected, melted and processed into new candles.

We cannot avoid using paper, which has led to a responsible search. All our documents, brochures and magazines are therefore made from FSC certified paper. The FSC system ensures that the forests of our world can be preserved through responsible forest management.

By using FSC, we directly contribute to the protection of our global forests and to a healthy living environment for humans and animals worldwide.

In addition to major innovations in the field of energy generation and recycling, our CSR program includes hundreds of small improvements that have earned our hotels the highest Green Key rating: the Green Key Gold certificate.

Examples of this are:

  • The remains of all old candles in the restaurants are collected, melted and processed into new candles.
  • In our hotels we filter tap water to the purest table water.
  • Our trucks are all equipped with aerodynamic spoilers. A serious investment with which we save a lot of fuel.
  • Professional video conferencing facilities, so that guests do not have to be present on location.
  • All our documents, brochures and magazines are made from FSC certified paper. This means that the paper comes from well-managed forests.

In our hotels we almost exclusively use LED lighting. The modern LED lamps are economical in energy consumption and provide atmospheric light. An ideal combination for our modern hotels. Did you know that LED lighting provides greater energy savings, contains no harmful substances, is less flammable and is also healthier because there is no UV radiation?
